Sometimes ActivInspire will not launch if you already have Powerpoint active on your machine. This is becasue Powerpoint now includes the ActivOffice plug-in that features a cut-down version of Active tools, so refuses to open ActivInspire.
THE FIX: always open ActivInspire before opening Powerpoint.
